Hair Care tips for healthy locks
Hair fall is common in both men and women. Too much hair loss causes worry and affects self-esteem. But it can be controlled in simple ways by keeping few tips in mind and with certain home remedies that are natural and effective.
1. Shampoo
The right shampoo is very important for your scalp health. Also, you should wash your hair depending on your scalp. For example over washing hair with dry scalp can cause hair fall, or not washing oily hair thrice a week can also lead to hair fall.
Further, make sure the shampoo is not loaded with chemicals including sulfate, paraben, and silicone that can make your hairs brittle and hence, prone to breakage.
2. Conditioner
The conditioner contains amino acids that help to repair damaged hair, and also helps to keep them smooth.
3. Stay Hydrated
Drinking enough water is also a way of reducing hair fall. Drink about six to eight glasses of filtered water on a regular basis.
4. Regular Trims
Hair tends to be the most damaged near the tips, and a good trim in every six to eight weeks can help solve your problem. Split ends can also cause hair fall. To avoid this, keep trimming your hair regularly. Damaged hair can chop off to promote growth and remove split ends.
5. Stress
Stress is one of the root causes for a lot of health problems, including hair loss. It can also disturb the process of hair growth and lead to premature graying. Again, meditation and yoga on regular basis can prove to be a good stress buster.
6. Avoid Chemical Treatments
Hair treatments like straightening, perming and coloring are definitely not good for your hairs. Avoid usage of blow dryers, curling rods, especially on wet hair as they actually boil the water in your hair shaft and make them breakable.
If you need to use a blow dry, then keep it in the lowest heat setting. If using other products that heat your hair, start with a healthy leave-in conditioner and finish with a protective spray.
7. Avoid Styling Products
Using too styling products on your hair could prove harmful in the long run, as they contain chemicals. Instead of chemical products try natural home-made remedies.
8. Combing Wet Hair
Wet strands are never more fragile and prone to breakage. Hence it’s important to use a wide toothed comb or let them air-dry first before styling.
9. Avoid Tight Hairstyles
Pulling your hair too tight from the roots should avoided as it causes damage. It is also best not to tie your hair tight while sleeping.
10. Avoid Hot Showers
Hot showers are comfortable, but it dehydrates the hair strands, making them brittle and vulnerable to breakage. Instead of hot water you should opt for lukewarm water and try to rinse hair with the coolest temperature.
11. Diet and Exercise
You
should have the diet with all the right nutrients particularly plenty
of protein and iron. But, along with eating a balanced diet ensure you
are exercising side by side. Yoga and meditation are very effective in
reducing hair fall.
12. Hot Oil Treatment
Oiling improves blood circulation and nourishes the roots. You should massage your hairs once a week with lukewarm oil that
suits your scalp. Cover it with a shower cap and wash it off with a
mild shampoo after two hours. Hot oil treatment is a great way to add
nourishment to your hair and prevent hair fall.
